Jazz & Choreography Workshops
In this series of workshops, dancers will focus on the development of jazz and choreography skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through a variety of exercises, we will explore how to use the body as an instrument of expression and how to tell a story through movement. Participants will perform during our Summer Showcase in August.

Abby Jones
Abby Jones is a contemporary dancer and choreographer from Columbus, Ohio, currently performing with Whirlwind Contemporary Dance. She has a diverse performance portfolio and has worked with choreographers such as Josh Manculich and Braeden Barnes, showcasing their work in locations such as New York, Italy, and Chicago. Abby holds Bachelor’s degrees in Contemporary Dane and Psychology, from Indiana University, where she trained with esteemed artists such as Baba Stafford Berry, Jr., Elizabeth Shea, and Robert Burden. Additionally, she has taught a range of styles including contemporary, ballet, jazz, and Pilates, at various dance organizations and workshops.
Hannah Crane
Hannah Crane received her early training from DCSD and is a versatile dancer, award-winning choreographer, and educator based in Indianapolis with extensive experience in contemporary, West African and Afro-Cuban dance forms. She performs and choregraphs with prominent companies such as Seda Negra/Black Silk Dance Company and Create Freedom Arts Projects. Hannah holds a Master’s in Arts Administration and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington. She has traveled internationally teaching everything from youth programs to professional workshops and has choreographed for multiple dance organizations. Her passion for diverse dance forms is matched by her dedication to community engagement and cultural exchange.
