We couldn’t hold our recitals without the wonderful help of our volunteers!
You can choose what positions to sign up for and know what you are committing to by the descriptions below. Please remember if you choose to volunteer for the show your child is in, you WILL be able to enter the auditorium to watch him/her perform OR you may volunteer at the show in which your child does not perform. Fill out the form below by March 15 to be entered into our drawing! With shorter recitals this season, your time commitment is less than ever! No paper to return, no need to call, just make your selection online and we’ll take care of the rest!
- Dress Rehearsals: Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30
- Recitals: Saturday, June 1
- Recital 1: 11a performance, arrive at 10a
- Recital 2: 3p performance, arrive at 2p
- Recital 3: 6:30p performance, arrive at 5:30p
REHEARSAL GREETER
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: 1½ to 2 hours
Job description: direct parents and volunteers to check-in tables and prevent parents from entering the auditorium during dress rehearsal.
CLASS CHAPERONE (position requires both rehearsal and recital)
*Please note, you are volunteering for both rehearsal and recital for this position. It is beneficial for the students to have a familiar face for both rehearsal and recital.
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours
- Recital Time Commitment: 1½ to 2 hours
Job description: watch over/entertain the dancers in the auditorium and/or dressing room and assist students with costume changes. *All chaperones will have the opportunity to enter the auditorium during the recital to watch their child’s routine(s).
CHECK-IN VOLUNTEER
*Please note, you need to sign up under the rehearsal and recitals separately on the form.
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours
- Recital Time Commitment: 45 minutes before the recital
Job description: check students in and out at rehearsal and/or recital.
REHEARSAL DRESSING ROOM ATTENDANTS
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: 3 to 4 hours at rehearsal only
Job description: assist Class Chaperones and students with costume changes during dress rehearsal.
USHER
- Recital Time Commitment: 45 minutes before the recital and throughout the performance
Job description: view tickets and assist audience members to their seats.
BACKSTAGE HALL VOLUNTEER (position requires both rehearsal and recital)
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: approximately 4 hours
- Recital Time Commitment: 60 minutes prior and the duration of the performance
Job description: assisting staff with the workings of rehearsal and recital. *Note: only volunteers who have assisted with the position will be chosen.
Positions for students only:
STUDENT RUNNER
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours
- Recital Time Commitment: 45 minutes before the recital and 15 minutes after the recital
Job description: escort students to and from the check-in area and chaperones.
STUDENT ASSISTANTS
- Rehearsal Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours
- Recital Time Commitment: 45 minutes before the recital and until students are dismissed after the recital
Job description: Assist the Class Chaperones as they supervise students throughout the event and with costume changes.
